Inspired by the works of Dogen, Rev. Master Daishin takes seriously the teaching that enlightenment is an ever present reality - one implication of this is that Zen meditation is an expression of enlightenment, not a means to an end.
The book goes on to explore the role of will, faith, hope, cause and effect from the perspective of non-duality. How can we understand ourselves and our relationship with others without dividing the world into opposites - and still find a basis for moral action?
it ends with an interpretation of the main scriptures regularly used in Soto Zen.
